|
|
Our neighboring office (we are both small businesses, 5 employees) has
just received their new RCA 4-line executive model (with auto attendant)....they tell us that the portable handsets only work if programmed to base phone (that makes sense) BUT that each portable handset NEEDS it's own base phone (that doesn't make sense to us).
1) Is that correct or have they just misunderstood the programming process????
2) After reading your review seems the EPIC system may be better, can multiple handsets be programmed to 1 base, so that we can invest in one base and 5 handsets?
Thank you

Your neighbors are right about the RCA system. Each RCA Executive cordless phone connects directly to one corded base phone. With this RCA system, you can't have more cordless phones than base phones.
TMC is different. You must have at least one base phone (corded), but you can add as many cordless phones as you need (up to a total phone count of 16).
So yes. With TMC, you can set up 1 base and 5 cordless phones, however, you can't do the same with RCA Executive Series phones.
----- ------ MY ADVICE
Go with TMC's Epic line.
TMC's Epic line is a much better built solution anyway. It includes many serious features that add to the efficiency of the work environment, and it's designed with quality in mind. I compare it more to a large enterprise-level phone system in how it can be customized to fit your business. It's a serious solution in a totally different class than the RCA phones. |
